Russia mulls allowing sugar exports of 1 mln tns outside EAEU

MOSCOW, Jul 17 (PRIME) -- The Agriculture Ministry has suggested allowing Russian companies to export up to 1 million tonnes of sugar to the countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from August 1 through July 31, 2021, the ministry said in a draft ruling published on Thursday.

In April, Russia restricted the volume of exports outside the EAEU.

“The Agriculture Ministry has prepared a draft ruling that sets the allowed amount of white sugar and beetroot raw sugar exports outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union for the period from August 1, 2020 through July 31, 2021 in the framework of an agreement … at 1 million tonnes,” the ministry said in the ruling’s explanatory note.
